Predicting a trade: Jets trade to Quinnen Williams to Cardinals for a two draft picks

Quinnen Williams Jets trade
Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is traded to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a 2nd round pick in 2021 and a 5th 2022.

The Arizona Cardinals are beating good teams right now and they are not very solid at defensive tackle. They offer up a second round pick in 2021 and a 5th in 2022.

The Cardinals have Corey Peters who is in the final year of his contract, and then after that they have Zach Allen and Leki Fotu outside of Corey. Peters is 32 years old, so I could see the Cardinals looking for a replacement.

Joe Douglas has always been willing to listen to offers and move players for the right price. With Steve McLendon and Jordan Willis already shipped out, it’s possible Williams is next.

Williams has played in 20 career games, has 56 combined tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and 11 QB hits in his early career.

The Jets are rebuilding and getting rid of Williams even though it makes little sense, it can net them a high draft pick, and when you look at his stats, he really has not been #3 worthy.

Quinnen Williams signed a 4 year, $32,529,371 contract with the New York Jets, including a $21,677,724 signing bonus, $32,529,371 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,132,343. In 2020, Williams will earn a base salary of $675,000, a signing bonus of $5,419,431 and a roster bonus of $1,388,608, while carrying a cap hit of $7,483,039 and a dead cap value of $26,614,940.
