2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Najee Harris, RB, University of Alabama

Najee Harris Alabama
Alabama running back Najee Harris is one of the best running backs to come out of the NFL Draft in the past several years. He is going to be a superstar.

Najee Harris is the best running back in the nation. This is not a secret, but I wanted to write about him.

Last year, Harris went over 1000 yards rushing, and he is a former 5 star recruit. He has been pretty damn impressive.

He rushed for 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns on just 209 carries, averaging 5.86 yards per carry. He is a beast as a pass catcher too, which is impressive. He had seven receiving touchdowns.

Harris reminds Daniel Jeremiah of Matt Forte, the former Tulane running back.

“I wrote down Matt Forte at the top of my notes about 10 plays into my study of the LSU [Alabama] game,” Jeremiah wrote. “The two players share the same build and smooth/easy running style. Forte had a little more juice, but they are both physical, instinctive runners with added value in the passing game. Another name that popped into my mind was Eddie George. However, George was bigger and more violent as a runner. It will be interesting to see how the league values Harris in the draft. My advice: Ignore the 40-yard-dash time. He’s going to be an excellent pro.”

Harris has 13 rushing touchdowns in 13 games and is tied for second in the conference.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

Najee Harris is a first round pick. Anyone can turn on film and see he is the best running back in the 2021 NFL Draft. I wanted to write a piece on him because he impressed the hell out of me last week. I do not watch much Alabama football, but man this kid is talented. He is going to make a team so much better next year. Running backs are not hard to find right now, but this kid is a generational type back. Draft Him – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds, Owner
