That Sports Guy’s Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings

Derrick Henry Titans Fantasy Studs
Fantasy Football Rankings: Titans running back Derrick Henry has been the best running back in the NFL. That Sports Guy believes he will continue his domination in week 8.

By Craig Forrestal

Are you having fun? Having fun is the reason we play fantasy football right? Being in a league with the fellas offering lop-sided trades and posting smack talk messages on the league board is why we do this, correct? It isn’t about drafting the Round 13 long-shot that takes off, cough cough, James Robinson. Or maybe the competition is why we keep coming back to torture ourselves by still playing that underwhelming weekly high-round draft pick; insert a lot of names here. But either way, let us take a look at the Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings from That Sports Guy.

3 Weekly Sleepers

  • DeeJay Dallas/ RB/ Seattle Seahawks: Who? Demetrius Dallas, aka DeeJay, is a rookie RB from the RB factory known as the University of Miami. He averaged almost 6 yards per carry for his career as a member of the Hurricanes program. With Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde and Travis Homer all popping up on the injury report Dallas is the only healthy RB in Seattle and by default could see  A LOT of work. While San Francisco isn’t an ideal matchup the volume is hard to pass up as Seattle uses the running game. Monitor the practice reports throughout the week.
  • Gus Edwards/ RB/ Baltimore Ravens: Mark Ingram is also injured and may not play this week so watching the practice availability will be crucial. While Pittsburgh isn’t a great matchup Edwards gashed them last season for over 100 yards. Edwards should handle a majority of carries and goal-line carries with Ingram out, potentially, while splitting work with JK Dobbins.
  • Scotty Miller/ WR/ Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Maybe Scotty doesn’t know that Antonio Brown is on his way and this could very well be his last game with extended run. Chris Godwin is out bumping Miller and his usage. Miller found the end zone last week and even though he can be up and down this is a chance I’m willing to take. Miller is coming off a 6 catch performance with a TD and over 100 yards.

3 Weekly Fades

  • Jared Goff/ QB/ LA Rams: He has a short week with just playing the Monday night game and he has to fly all the way to Miami for a 1 pm kickoff. Given the relative low-passing volume of this offense, this week especially makes for a run-focused game plan.
  • Adrian Peterson/ RB/ Detroit Lions: D’Andre Swift seems like he has taken over the RB role for Detroit leaving Adrian Peterson to do little work throughout the game.
  • Michael Gallup/ WR/ Dallas Cowboys: The loss of Dak has crippled his fantasy outlook. Even in an enticing matchup with Philadelphia Gallup can’t be played.
