According to the Daily Orange, Tyrell Richards the Syracuse starting outside linebacker was arrested for driving while impaired back on August 8th.
Not many were aware of the situation until the team released their official depth chart and Richards was not penciled in as the starter for their week 1 game.
According to reports, Richards has been disciplined in accordance to the team and athletic department’s protocols.
Many people thought that Richards decided to opt-out, but that was not the case. He was not on the depth chart because of his recent run in with the law. Pretty sad, because Richards was a key part of the Orange’s special teams unit. They will need him.
