Predicting the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award Winner

Antonio Gibson
Washington Football Team’s Antonio Gibson is going to have a huge year. A matter of fact, I have him leading all rushers with 1040 rushing yards. But is that enough to win Offensive Rookie of the Year?

Vegas Insider recently released their Offensive Rookie of the Year Award odds and Joe Burrow is the front runner to win the award. The odds have Burrow as the lead at +200, but I do not feel he will end up winning the award. Here are my top three players that I feel will have the best shot at winning the award. I recently broke down my predictions on who would win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, you can check that out here!

1.) Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington Redskins – Let me explain something here. They just cut Adrian Peterson and the only other real threat to taking the job from Gibson is Bryce Love who had not received any first team carries before last week. Gibson’s odds right now are +15000. You may want to put a couple dollars on those odds!

2.) Jerry Jeudy, WR, Denver Broncos – Jeudy is going to go off this year. I think Drew Lock will shine in 2020. Right now Jeudy’s odds to win the DROY award is +1200 and I think that is how many yards he will have receiving in 2020. I am going to go on record and say Jeudy eclipses 1200 yards receiving as a rookie.

3.) Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs – Chiefs need to run the ball, and they relied on it heavily in the playoffs last year. With Damien Williams opting out and the team allowing Shady McCoy to test free agency, the Chiefs are putting all their eggs in the basket for CEH. I think he breaks 1000 yards rushing but falls short of Gibson who goes for 1040.

Let’s predict our winner!

I am going with Jerry Jeudy. Sorry, that was not really hard to do, but Jeudy I think solidifies it after he goes for 200 in week 10 against the Raiders. He finishes the year with 1200 plus yards and Jeudy’s 8 touchdowns is second to only CeeDee Lamb who finishes with less yards but 9 touchdowns on the season.
