16 year old football player Le’ontae Coates was shot and killed in Georgia. When will these senseless acts stop?

When will all these senseless murders stop? Another high school football player has been murdered in the United States. This year it seems like an alarming amount of football players are getting killed. I am not sure if it is because COVID-19 or what but this needs to end. Le’ontae Coates was just 16 years old. He played football for West Laurens High School in Georgia.

The school released a statement on their Facebook page:

“Our Laurens County School District family is mourning the loss of WLHS 9th grader, Le’ontae Coates, Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and teammates as they cope with the loss of an outstanding young man.”

Two adults have been arrested but neither have been charged with the death of Coates. Both Lashundria Madison, 36 and Roderick Brown, 33 were charged for different citations. Madision was charged with Aggravated Assault against Roderick Brown, while Brown was charged with simple battery and criminal trespassing.

Please pray for the Coates family in this tough time. It is so sad that Le’ontae had to lose his life to such a cowardly act.
