Deion Sanders will change the way young players look at HBCU schools

Jackson State is expected to hire Deion Sanders as their new head coach, and he will change the culture of HBCU football.

Today, reports surfaced that Deion Sanders aka PRIMETIME, was finalizing a deal to become the new head coach of Jackson State University.

Jackson State University has a rich history in its football program. As of 2019, Jackson State has produced 94 pro football players including four who have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and 16 who have been selected to play in the Pro Bowl.

Some of the best players ever in the NFL have come out of Jackson State. Players like Walter Payton, Robert Brazile, Jackie Slater, Lem Barney, Jimmy Smith and Harold Jackson are just a few.

Deion Sanders is a Hall of Famer himself, and he has been advocating to help HBCU players for the past several years. This is a huge move for Jackson State because with everything going on in the world right now with social injustice, players have been leaning towards potentially going to an HBCU school rather than a Power 5. That movement could become a reality with a young and fresh head coach like Deion.

You have to think about it, most players in high school’s parents great up watching Deion play on television. Deion was a star when these parents were growing up or going to school themselves. Now, their kids and Deions’ former friends and former teammates kids will be getting ready to pick their schools. I think Deion is going to land some major players at the school.

I also think Deion can be an infuential leader for the school and the HBCU community. His circle is huge. He knows many people with tons of power and money. He can reach out to several big time people that will invest more into the HBCU programs.

I am telling you, Deion Sanders to Jackson State is going to be amazing. I think the level of talent going to Jackson State in the next few weeks is going to increase big time.
