Five teams that need Adrian Peterson now that he will be a free agent

Adrian Peterson
Adrian Peterson joining any one of these teams to finish out his career would be fun to see.

Adrian Peterson is one of the best running backs to ever play the game. Today he was informed he would be released by the team.

Peterson, 35, rushed for 1,940 yards and 12 touchdowns in two seasons with Washington. He only missed one game in 2019, when he was a healthy inactive. Peterson, entered the league in 2007, is fifth on the NFL’s career rushing list with 14,216 yards — just 1,053 behind No. 4 Barry Sanders — and fourth in rushing touchdowns with 111.

So I wanted to find five teams that could benefit from his services. Let’s look!

1.) Jacksonville Jaguars – The Jaguars just cut their best running back. They have five running backs on their roster right now, but none of them are on Adrian Peterson’s level. I think the Jaguars would be crazy not to sign him, the problem is do they want to? They have been giving everything away.

2.) Dallas Cowboys – Yes, bring the guy home. The Palestine, Texas native would be a great back-up to Ezekiel Elliott. The team really loves Tony Pollard but he would be a good signing for Jerry and the Boys. The Cowboys would benefit to have another back in case of an injury.

3.) Chicago Bears – The Bears love Tarik Cohen and the young David Montgomery is going to be a workhorse. Montgomery did get injured recently but should be good to go. I just think a veteran in the backfield for the Bears makes sense.

4.) Los Angeles Rams – To me the Rams have the worst backfield in the NFL. Both Rams and Jaguars right now are bad, and both could use Adrian Peterson. I think Peterson to the Rams makes too much sense. He could help Jared Goff off quite a bit.

5.) Carolina Panthers – The Panthers have Christian McCaffrey and behind him they have no one. Adding a player like Adrian Peterson helps them add a quality back-up that can come in right now and help CMac. Peterson is a beast and he would love to play with Teddy Bridgewater!
