President Trump wants College Football to happen, and some divisions plan to play
Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence wants to play football this year, and he and many other student athletes are going to Twitter to make their voice heard. They want to play. With the Big Ten and Pac 12 considering to pull out, what does that mean? NO one knows what is going to happen at this point with the ACC, SEC and other conferences, but the POTUS wants football to happen. He tweeted out the #Hashtag #WeWantToPlay yesterday.
“The student-athletes have been working too hard for their season to be cancelled #WeWantToPlay,” Trump tweeted.
White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany also commented on the issue.
“I spoke to the president in the Oval Office about that. He would very much like to see college football safely resume their sport… a lot of these college athletes work their whole lives to get four years, or sometimes if they’re redshirted an extra year, they work their whole lives for this moment and he’d like to see them have a chance to live out their dreams,” she said.
Tons of college football players want to play, while some conferences have already pulled out, but several conferences are adamant they are going to play. The ACC is one that has been all in since day one. It will be interesting to see how this plays out because the NCAA may have to eventually step in, with conferences pulling out.
