Summary

The talk about Meinerz is that he is the next Ben Bartch. Bartch was a D3 offensive lineman that was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars and had a strong post-season showing. However, Meinerz is being discussed well ahead of the post-season all-star games. While Meinerz is a different player from Bartch the comparison makes sense because of the storyline. As I said, Meinerz is different. He is a no-nonsense type-of-guy with a heavy wrestling background. You can see the wrestling background come through in his run blocks. He uses fantastic leverage and hand placement to dictate the direction of the defender. Meinerz will have to fight the small-school questions as the level of competition is always a concern. Another solid season and those questions should be erased. Expect him to be someone that you see at the Senior Bowl.
