NFL Week 1 Odds: Chiefs are heavy favorites week 1, what other teams have good odds?

Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is a baller and right now the Chiefs have to be the team to beat in the NFL, but can they beat the Houston Texans by 9.5 points? Especially with no preseason, and time to gel in live-action? Check out NFL Week 1 Odds!

Football is quickly approaching, and I know I am not the only one ready to watch some hitting. Last year, the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes dominated the NFL and Oddsmakers all over the world have them as heavy favorites in the first game of the year. The football odds are now live for Week 1 and there are some surprises. The Chiefs being a favorite is not really a surprise, but a 9.5 point favorite over the Texans is pretty steep.

With no preseason we are not sure how these teams are going to come out playing. We all know that the Chiefs are a solid team from last year but they are going into the season with two fewer players. Damien Williams their starting running back who dominated the Super Bowl has opted out of the 2020 season, along with starting offensive guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.

They will be going up against a playoff team in the Houston Texans. I get that the Texans lost their best player in DeAndre Hopkins, but let’s not forget the Texans landed David Johnson from the Cardinals and they also added Brandin Cooks from the Rams. Both are very solid players, and if they can play at a high level, the Texans offense could be more potent.

While I like the Texans in this game plus 9.5 there are some other surprises in the week 1 odds. For example, the Carolina Panthers are underdogs against the Raiders. I cannot put any money on the Raiders until I know what Derek Carr I am getting. The Raiders have heart, but I think I will take Teddy Bridgewater and the Panthers with weapon Christian McCaffrey before I take the Raiders. The spread is only 1.5 points, but still, I have to go with the Panthers.

Lastly, I was blown away when I read that the 49ers are giving the Cardinals 7 points. This is my lock of week 1. Do not get me wrong the 49ers are legit, they are a tough team, but the Cardinals are the up and coming team. They added DeAndre Hopkins and I feel they are ready to compete right now to take the division over. The toughest division in football has to be the NFC West, and you better stop sleeping on Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. If you notice 2nd-year quarterbacks taking their teams deep in the playoffs has become a trend. I would not be surprised if Murray is the next quarterback to make this happen.

I cannot wait until the first play, with COVID-19 killing sports and making it hard to watch live, at least we can take our minds off the worldly problems and watch the teams we love the play on the gridiron. At the end of the day, who is not ready for week 1?
