NFL Draft

It is looking more and more like the FCS will not have a postseason

Pump the Brakes on Trey
“I want more from Trey Lance in 2020” – Craig Forrestal breaks down the best FCS prospect in the country. Should he opt out?

Yesterday, the Big Sky and the Pioneer League both elected to opt out of fall football. What does this mean? It means, that North Dakota State University may not be able to win another Championship.

Yesterday’s meeting could be the dagger for the 24-team FCS playoffs.

The Board of Governors also ruled that if 50 percent of eligible teams in a particular sport cancel their fall seasons, there will be no fall NCAA championship in that sport. For FCS football, that likely means that 56 of 111 playoff-eligible teams must play in the fall.

So far, 47 of the 111 playoff-eligible teams are still regarded as being in for fall football, or 42%. In other words, FCS playoffs are likely to shut down, according to the recent NCAA Board of Governors memo.

So far, six of the 13 FCS conferences have decided to postpone or cancel their fall football seasons. What does this mean for Trey Lance? Should he move on? Opt-Out of the season? I mean he is the top rated FCS prospect in my opinion. He has a first round grade and this will crush his status.
