Former HS football standout and Marine catches 3 year old boy from burning building (VIDEO)

Phillip Blanks
Former Marine and Kalamazoo, Michigan native Phillip Blanks made an incredible catch by catching a little 3 year old boy from a fire.

Phillip Blanks was a pretty big wide receiver in high school. He once hauled in a 30 yard touchdown on the final play of a game to beat Loy Norrix in 2009. That was a huge catch but it was not the best catch of his life.

The former Marine caught a 3 year old boy who was dropped from the balcony of a burning third floor building in Arizona on July 3rd.

The little boy and his 8-year-old sister were critically injured in the fire. They lost their Mother in the fire.

Blanks was captured on video helping to save the boy’s life.

In an article on MLive.com, Blanks said the child’s foot was injured in the fall but that his head and major organs were protected.

“His skin was melting off of his body,” Blanks said. “He was bleeding.”

Blanks would like to find the children and would like to be part of their lives after the incident. I hope he can find them.

Thank you Phillip Blanks you are a hero!
