We are hearing that the Pac-12 could be the next major conference to make a decision about their future for college football. The Pac-12 Conference is contemplating going to conference play just like the Big-10 did yesterday.
Although we are hearing that the Pac-12 will follow the lead of the Big Ten and play a conference-only schedule in fall sports this year, the league released a statement noting that no decisions have been reached.
“The Pac-12 has not yet made a determination on fall sports. The health and safety of our student-athletes and all those connected to Pac-12 sports is our number one priority, and we have been working closely with our Pac-12 COVID-19 Medical Advisory Board and campus leadership over the past months to help guide our decision making.”
This is sounding more and more like it will happen. Then the Mountain West could follow suit. This would be a huge blow to the conference. There are some good games that would be cancelled if this does in fact happen.
Utah is expected to play BYU, Wyoming and Montana State. So it will be interesting to see what happens next.
