2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Landon Young, OL, University of Kentucky

Landon Young
Kentucky offensive lineman Landon Young is a massive player who has become one of my favorite offensive tackles in the draft.

Since Landon Young came to Kentucky the guy has been dominating his opponents. The Wildcats offensive line was named as a whole as a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award which is given to the Most Outstanding Offensive Line. They averaged 5.4 yards per carry and helped Benny Snell hear his name called in the NFL Draft.

In Landon’s true freshman year, he finished with 27 knockdown blocks and was named to the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll. Not only is he smart, he is a bad ass.

In 2017, Young played in 13 games starting 6 at left tackle. He helped spring Benny Snell Jr to the first player in school history to rush for 1000 yards in back to back seasons.

As a junior, Landon needed to redshirt because of a knee injury. Last year though he rebounded in a big way. He finished the season with 64 knockdown blocks. He started every game last year, and has now appeared in 36 career games.

Landon Young is a big boy that is country strong. You can see his toughness in his film. Remember his name in the 2021 NFL Draft. The kid is legit as they come.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

Kentucky’s offensive lineman Landon Young plays pissed off, and I love it. The 6070, 305 pound offensive tackle was a huge reason that Lynn Bowden had such a great season. Young is huge and a beast when it comes to run blocking. I love big ole’ mean son of guns, and this kid is it. He tries to kill people on the offensive line and I love that. He could be a bit better when it comes to technique but if you do not love the aggressive play of Young you do not like football for the right reasons. – Damond Talbot, Owner, NFL Draft Diamonds
