Eagles release statement on DeSean Jackson’s anti-Semitic message

The Philadelphia Eagles did not waste much time to release a statement on wide receiver DeSean Jackson’s comments last night on Twitter.

DeSean Jackson posted a photo of a quote from Adolf Hitler sayings this:

Both Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman are Jewish and I am sure this was upsetting to read. Jackson did not stop there. He apologized then posted another quote.

Joe Banner, who was team president when the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Jackson in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft and also is of Jewish descent, condemned Jackson’s comments on Twitter. Banner was pissed, and both Lurie and Roseman said Jackson’s comments were “offensive, harmful, and absolutely appalling” and “will take appropriate action.”

If a white player said anything about AA’s as outrageous as what Desean Jackson said about Jews tonight there would at least be a serious conversation about cutting him and a need for a team meeting to discuss. Which would be totally appropriate. Absolutely indefensible.
