2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Whop Philyor, WR, Indiana University

Whop Philyor Indiana
Indiana WR Whop Philyor is a dog, and I am a huge fan. I support Florida high school football players and Philyor was a beast for Plant High School in Tampa.

I love Florida High School Football and if I do not mention Mister Elias De’Angelo Philyor then I am not doing the City of Tampa any justice.

Former Plant High School standout Whop Philyor is one of the best wide receivers in college football. The 5’11 wide out has the speed to burst on the scene in 2020.

Whop was a First Team All-State player as a senior. He totaled 140 career receptions for 2,026 yards and scored 25 touchdowns. He also played running back and defensive back. I am a huge fan of his, because I love myself some Burger King too!

Philyor landed his nickname because he loves some Burger King Whoppers. I can see a marketing deal in the near future for him.

As a true Freshman, Whop had a great year for the Hoosiers. He hauled in 33 receptions for 335 yards and scored three touchdowns.

In 2018, he hauled in 23 receptions for 235 yards and 1 touchdown. It was a slight decline in stats in 2018, but he exploded in 2019.

Last season, he broke the 1,000 yard mark in receiving. Philyor finished with 1,572 receiving yards on 70 receptions and scored 5 touchdowns. He was just the 7th Hoosier to reach 1,000 yards. He was a second-team All-Big Ten, and was the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year.

Philyor enters 2020 with 126 receptions, 1,572 yards, nine touchdowns, six 100-yard games and five double-digit catch games. He became the 13th Hoosier to reach 125 receptions and 1,500 yards. Philyor is the program’s leader in double-figure catch games, shares seventh in 100-yard games, is 15th in catches and 20th in yardage.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

From Plant High School to Indiana to the NFL, do not bet against Whop Philyor. The 2020 NFL Draft was stacked at wide receiver, but 2021 maybe just as talented. Indiana is not known for funneling players to the NFL, but this year Whop will put the Hoosiers on the map. He can play inside and outside and NFL teams are going to love his competitiveness.
