What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?

I’m going to be a team captain this upcoming season.  I feel like I can fit into any scheme. I can play an edge rusher, fill the gaps on the inside or drop back into coverage.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

Craig Rucker was a very explosive receiver out of Mars Hill. He was very quick and hard to tackle. On my team, Braxton Westfield keeps me on my toes in practice.

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

Darius Williams and Desmond Fairell impressed me the most. Darius was a playmaker and the vocal leader. He was so quick to read and react to a play. Desmond was just a lockdown corner. He made so many acrobatic plays. He had 20 career Ints.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

My first two years in college were a bit of a struggle. Coming out of high school and having to sit and wait my turn to play was hard. There were great players in front of me. I played special teams and had to be patient and wait for my time.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

Basketball. I played basketball my sophomore and junior year in high school. I also ran track.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I am most proud of going to college. I’ll also be one of few in my family to graduate. I was an All-American and First Team All Conference in 2019 with 93 tackles and 9 sacks. I have the single season sack record at Carson Newman.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.

I had an Int at Limestone. We were up big in that game, and they started coming back. They had all the momentum and were on the 50 yard line. We were in a cover 3, and I went in my hook. The QB tried to throw it over me, and I made the grab and returned it for about 30 yards.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

My favorite team is the Arizona Cardinals. I became a fan watching Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald playing in the Super Bowl.

I used to say that I modeled my game after Cam Chancellor because I was a safety in high school. Now that I’m at LB, I would say Bobby Wagner. He rarely misses tackles. He’s a playmaker.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?

My favorite music is Lil Uzi Vert. Before a game, I listen to G Herb, Lil baby, NBA Youngboy and Meek Mill

My favorite actor would be Will Smith. He’s so versatile. He can be a great comedian or play in a very serious movie.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?

I like chilling with my family and friends. I play Madden.

Who or what motivates you the most?

My family. I want to be an inspiration to the younger people in my family like my cousins. I want them to understand that you can be anything that you want to be as long as you’re willing to put in the work.
