Former NFL player Reche Caldwell ambushed and killed by men outside his house
Former New England Patriots wide receiver Reche Caldwell was shot and killed outside of his Tampa, Florida houshold, according to TMZ Sports.
The 41 former Florida Gators wide receiver was ambushed according to his girlfriend. six seasons in the 2000s. Caldwell played college football for the Florida Gators and thereafter he played professionally for the San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, and Washington Redskins of the NFL.
Caldwell was about to take his girlfriend out when he went back inside his house to get a jacket. His girlfriend said Caldwell was “ambushed” by a “couple of people” who jumped out of the bushes in an attempted robbery, Caldwell’s mother, Deborah, according to TMZ.
Caldwell had been shot in the leg and in the chest. He died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Reche was arrested for running a gambling house before in Tampa.
