Roche is one of the best pass rushers in the country and he will be joining another elite force in Miami with Gregory Rousseau. They are going to put Hurricanes defense on the map in 2020.
Roche has been an elite pass rusher since high school. The New Town High School grad, earned All-State and All-County honors as a senior, when he broke the school record with 19 sacks.
At Temple, Roche totaled 137 total tackles, 39.5 tackles for loss and 26.0 sacks in three seasons.
The Randallstown, Maryland native and Greg Rousseau will be a force in the 305. With both Rousseau and Roche off the edge, I feel bad for opposing quarterbacks. Roche played seven games against Power 5 teams and he dominated those team. Four of these games were against ACC teams.
When you add Roche who has 26 career sacks to Rousseau who led the nation with 15.5 sacks in 2019, you have some heat coming off the edge. Get ready Hurricanes, that nasty defense is coming back.
NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:
University of Miami added a stud in Quincy Roche. The Hurricanes made the best moves in the off-season, adding Roche as a grad transfer and also landing a few Houston players, including QB D’Eriq King. I would not be surprised if the Hurricanes defense racks up 40 plus sacks in 2020. Roche has a great first step and always shows up for the big games. I think he will ball out for the Canes. – Damond Talbot, Owner, NFL Draft Diamonds
