Another HBCU team leaves the MEAC, Bethune-Cookman is headed to the SWAC

Bethune-Cookman leaves the MEAC
Ryan Davis was a beast for Bethune-Cookman and had a great career in the NFL.

Bethune-Cookman University announced today that they are joining Florida A&M University in the SWAC, starting 2021.

Bethune-Cookman Wildcats are located in Daytona Beach, Florida and have been members of the MEAC forever. Since the 1979 season, the Wildcats have been members of the conference, but starting next year, they are leaving to the SWAC.

Bethune-Cookman has put several players in the NFL over the past couple years. Guys like Jean Fanor, Ryan Davis, Jawill Davis, Nick Collins and Rashean Mathis are just to name a few.

The MEAC will be losing five programs over a two-year span, which makes you wonder what is going on in the conference? Why are teams willing to move out of the conference?

If you look at it, Hampton left to the Big South, North Carolina A&T is headed there too, and Savannah State went to Division 2.

Now add in FAMU and Bethune-Cookman. Jeez, this is getting bad. Who is next?
