MEAC/SWAC Challenge will still be played but only at 50% capacity

MEAC/SWAC Challenge
Grambling State will face South Carolina State for the first time since the 2009 MEAC/SWAC Challenge (GSU leads series 10-5). The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2.

HBCU football has taken a huge hit this year already, with college like Southern, Jackson State and Tennessee State losing games, and with Morehouse canceling their season, but the MEAC/SWAC Challenge will continue.

According to BizJournals.com, The game that kicks off the HBCU football season will be played at 50% capacity at Georgia State Stadium on Sept. 6 to mitigate COVID-19.

Grambling State will face off against South Carolina State in Georgia State Stadium. The maximum capacity is 25,000, so cut that in half. The MEAC/SWAC Challenge game is the first game of the year for HBCU colleges. This is a good news, but it will be hard to find a ticket. Especially, when last year’s MEAC/SWAC Challenge sold out.
