Tell us about your university/college. What was your major/minor? How is campus life?

Shepherd University is in West Virginia very close to Maryland. My major is Sports Communications. The campus is very calm and there aren’t too many things to get distracted by.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

I would say bringing the teammates up when they are down and boosting their morale

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?

I would consider myself as a leader on the defensive line because of my knowledge of the game and my experience in big game situations. I believe Defensive End in a 4-3 or 4-2-5 defense suits my skill set because of how I play with my hands and my play recognition from the edge.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

Jaleel Mclaughlin

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

I would definitely say Chrys Lane because he works hard on and off the field and never has complained about the adversity he has faced in life. He’s someone you could go to if you’re dealing with a tough situation.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

When I suffered a Jones Fracture in my left foot in the summer going into my redshirt sophomore year it set me back a lot, and I didn’t have the season I was dreaming about almost every night before the injury. That offseason I also dealt with the loss of 3 family members close to me, and I made a vow going into the New Year everything that I do will be in their honor, and I will not disappoint myself or my team coming into the following season

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

Baseball. I played since I was 6 all the way through high school. I took my junior year off of baseball to focus more on football. I went back and played baseball my senior as sort of a farewell to it.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I would say how far I’ve come from getting subpar grades in high school to taking school more seriously and knowing what I want to do with my life after college. Currently, I would say my biggest achievement has been purchasing my own car because I worked many hours and had to deal with the adversity that COVID-19 has brought. It feels good to get something on your own that you’ve worked hard for.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.

I would say my first collegiate sack is my most memorable play because it was my first career start and I didn’t know what to expect coming into the game but that play as soon as the ball snapped I already knew I had the guard beat.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

My favorite football team is the New England Patriots. I watch Khalil Mack a lot and try to model my game after his.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?

My favorite artist is J.Cole, but he hasn’t dropped much lately so Young Thug is in a tie with him for first. 50 Cent’s Get Rich Or Die Tryin album is a must listen before every game for me.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Pepperoni Pizza

Do you have a favorite movie or actor?

Favorite Movie is Malibu’s Most Wanted and my favorite actor is Eddie Murphy.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies?

Play 2k, workout, play football with my boys.

Who or what motivates you the most?

My Mother motivates me the most because I know she has made many sacrifices for me to be in the position I am today and not only does she always support me she has also instilled values in me that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
