Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: Joshua Donaldson, Defensive Back
Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. 1.How was your experience playing college football?
My college football experience was unique. I got the chance to play in multiple systems at corner and safety which led to my knowledge and versatility of the game increasing tremendously.
2.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
I would love to hangout with Ed Reed. In my opinion he’s the best safety to ever play and I would like to sit and pick his brain all day just so I can get a better picture of why the game was so easy for him. Plus I’m a ravens fan too.
3.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?
When I’m on the football field my mindset is kill or be killed I’m always in attack mode because I’ve been on an island most of my life so I have to always be alert and I never want to let my teammates down. The game kind of slows down for me on game day and my focus is at an all time high.
4.If you could live anywhere in the world where and why?
I would live in the Carolina’s I like the beaches there and it isn’t too far from the rest of my family.
5.What are your favorite moments from your football career?
My favorite moment from my football career is when we held the best passing team in my division to zero passing touchdowns and I personally didn’t give up a completion. Another great moment was when I made a goal line tackle on fourth down to seal us the game. It was our first win in program history. That was a great moment for the team.
6.What is your favorite book?
My favorite book is the Bible.
7.What do you do for fun?
I play a lot of 2k, I also play the drums and hangout with my friends.
8.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I’ve wanted to be a football player ever since I was 4 I used to watch my older cousin play every day, and I’ve wanted to be one ever since.
9.If you were an animal which animal would you be and why?
I would be a Lion because on the field I have no predators. I feel like I can tackle anyone.
10.What would a team get in a player like you?
A team would get an absolute steal. I have the size and skill set of guys in the league now just chose the small school route. I also can play in the box which is not common for a lot of corners.
11.What would you hope to accomplish if you make it into the NFL?
If I make it to the NFL I would like to earn a starting spot and definitely contribute on special teams.
12.If your life was a tv show what would you call it and why?
I would call it The road less traveled because of how I chose the small school route but still made it big through hard work and determination.
