2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Gary Brightwell, RB, University of Arizona

Gary Brightwell Arizona
Arizona Wildcats running back Gary Brightwell will be the number 1 back this year and I expect him to shine like he did his senior year of high school!

Gary Brightwell is one of the most underrated running back prospects in the country.

Gary Brightwell finished third on the team in rushing last year with 390 yards, and was tied for the rushing touchdowns team high at five. Having four of the five starting offensive linemen back from last year should be huge for Brightwell who is entering his senior year.

Last year in 2018, Brightwell had his best year. He finished the year with 525 yards on the ground and rushed for 3 touchdowns. He had two one hundred yard games that year, and was used as their #2 back.

This will really be the first year Brightwell will be the number 1 back for the Wildcats. As a senior in high school, he averaged 6.7 yards per carry as a senior, and rushed for 519 yards and scored 8 touchdowns on just 78 carries.

He came out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland a three star recruit. I would not be shocked if Brightwell has a major breakout season in 2020.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

Brightwell runs low to the ground, and has amazing cut back qualities. He will take you one way and right as you get close to him he will juke you out of your shoes, he is explosive, will put his head down and has quite a bit of Marshawn Lynch tendencies. He is a taller back, not as big bodied as Lynch, but he makes players miss and that is what excites me about his film. He will get back 4 of his 5 starting lineman, so expect him to ball out in 2020. – Damond Talbot, Owner, NFL Draft Diamonds
