Former Stanford linebacker Zach Hoffpauir dies at the age of 26

Former Stanford linebacker Zach Hoffpauir has left us at the age of 26. A medical examiner’s database says that Hoffpauir, who was only 26 years old, died on May 14. The medical examiner’s report is not yet complete on the cause of death but lists his full name as Zachary Thomas Hoffpauir.

Hoffpauir played at Stanford from 2012-16. He recorded 99 total tackles and had nine passes defended in his career.

His most productive season came as a junior in 2014 when he had 43 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss. He earned an honorable mention on the Pac-12’s all-conference team. He is close friends with Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey.

Please keep Hoffpauir’s family in your prayers. We are not sure if this COVID-19 related or something else. Please pray for answers.
