Tell us about your university/college. Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?

I competed with the UNI track team, I would help out in conference meets.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

My athleticism and knowledge of the game. 

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?

I see myself as a leader and someone who leads by example. I let my play talk for me and I work hard on and off the field. I can play both corner and safety, personally feel more comfortable at safety. 

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

Daurice Fountain. He was a former receiver for us and currently with the Indianapolis Colts. I always wanted to go against him in practice because he was the best and made me a better player.

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

Elerson Smith. He is always in the backfield making it hard for teams to run their plays. He is quick and big and hard to block. Also Isaiah Weston. He is a great receiver and playmaker. He is always making plays for our offense.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

Redshirt freshman year, just playing on special teams for the first three games was hard for me because I wanted to be on the field at all times. Eventually I got my opportunity and I was able to remain the starter since then.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

Either track or baseball. I miss playing both of those sports. I performed jumping events in high school track & field. My personal best in the high jump was 7’0”.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?

Becoming a father. Becoming a father has changed my life and has made me a better player. I try harder because I know now that it’s not just me I have to work hard for, I have to be able to provide for my family.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.

Scoring in Jack Trice. I’m from Iowa so being able to score on Iowa State was a good feeling. A lot of my friends and family are Iowa State fans.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

I like to watch Tryann Mathieu. He is a great football player, and I like how he plays the game of football.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?

I listen to Rap before games. Future is my go to.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Fettuccine Alfredo. Tumea & Sons in Des Moines has some good food.

Do you have a favorite movie or actor?

I watch all types of movies, I like American Gangster and my favorite actors are Leonardo Dicaprio and Denzell Washington.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?

Play video games, play with my daughter, and hang out with friends. I just picked up playing golf. It’s something I just started and I enjoy playing.

Who or what motivates you the most?

My daughter, I try to be the best role model for her, so one day I can help her be the best at what she wants to do.
