Rogan Wells can just about do it all for the Valdosta State Blazers. The 6-foot-3 dual-threat quarterback is a game-changer for the blazers. In 23 games under center, he has rushed for 1,230 yards with 19 touchdowns while throwing for 4,480 yards and 50 touchdowns. Oh yeah, he also has a 25-yard touchdown reception.

Wells has played a crucial role for the Blazers since he stepped under center in 2017 as a redshirt freshman. In a game against Florida Tech, Wells accounted for 6 touchdowns during the game. Two in the air and a career-high four rushing. He finished his freshman year going 4-2 as a starter.

The signal-caller had a breakout season in 2018 while leading his team to a national championship. He led the Blazers to a 14-0 record while being named MVP of the National Championship as well as D2CCA Super Region Two Offensive player of the year.

Wells and company led the nation in scoring with 52 points per game. He capped off his championship season with 136 rushes for 732 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. Wells also accounted for 3,075 yards, 38 touchdowns, and four interceptions through the air.

It is no surprise that after his stellar sophomore season Wells caught the attention of many throughout college football. However, teams still could not find an answer for him last year. Wells through for 2,650 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 702 yards and six touchdowns.

Now, the dangerous dual threat quarterback has all eyes on him. Valdosta State has won 17-straight Gulf Conference regular season games and Wells has played a huge part in the teams success over the last three seasons. I expect Wells to continue his dominance and really prove to NFL teams he is a legit player that can play at the next level.

Small School Scouting Notes:

Valdosta State is a powerhouse in Division 2, and next year they could be the team to beat because of their starting quarterback. Rogan Wells has become one of the best players in D2 Football over the past few years. Wells has a big arm and can run. He is very similar to Taysom Hill of the Saints. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner.
