The Buffalo Bills need to make a strong push to sign OG Larry Warford

The Buffalo Bills are very close to taking over the AFC East, and there is a 3x Pro Bowl offensive guard named Larry Warford available in free agency. This usually does not happen following the NFL Draft. The Saints released OL Warford last week after drafting Cesar Ruiz, which freed up cap space but also sent a very solid offensive lineman packing.

The Buffalo Bills could use Larry Warford because he would be an upgrade. The Bills currently have Spencer Long, Jon Feliciano, Quinton Spain, and Daryl Williams on their roster at the guard position. I think Larry Warford is better than all of them, but it also allows the Bills to trade a couple after mini camp.

The Bills have a history of trading offensive lineman, I mean they sent Russell Bodine to the Patriots and sent Wyatt Teller to the Browns last season. The Bills could end up sending Spencer Long and keep Warford, Feliciano who can play guard and center, and Quinton Spain. Let Feliciano and Williams compete with Warford and Quinton Spain.

Competition is a good thing, Protect Josh Allen at all costs

The Bills wanted an offensive lineman in the draft, and their General Manager Brandon Beane even mentioned the team was looking to trade a few picks up to draft an offensive lineman. New York Upstate, broke it down to find out that the Bills wanted to draft Logan Stenberg from Kentucky. Guess what position Stenberg is? Yep, A GUARD.

Get this, the Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Bobby Johnson also has ties with Larry Warford. Warford was Detroit’s 3rd-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Warford turns 29 in June, but remains one of the most powerful run blockers in the NFL. When Warford was in Detroit, guess who his offensive line coach was….. Yep, You guessed it Bobby Johnson.

This week Bills head coach Sean McDermott said it best when trying to take over the Division.

“Anytime you bring up some of those words — expectations, pressure — number one, I think it shows you that people respect the way we’re doing things overall, which is nice,” McDermott said. “But number two, and just as important, the Patriots, look, they’ve won the division for X amount of years. . . . Until someone is able to win the division, to us, the Patriots remain the favorite. Why shouldn’t they? You tell me one reason why they shouldn’t. We’ve got a lot of work to do, we really do. And our players work hard, there’s no doubt about that. I think that’s the one thing that I can say: We embrace that we’ve got to earn things.”

The Bills have a chance to take over the division, adding a stud run blocker and depth to the offensive line to protect Josh Allen is the smartest thing you can do. Bills need to make this happen, and guess what I keep hearing from a team source the Bills have shown interest.
