Junior Faulk, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound cornerback out of Jayess, Mississppi stepped up big for the statesmen last year during his junior season. The former JUCO product started 10 games at cornerback leading NCAA Division II players in interceptions with 9 and passes defended with 22.

Before arriving on campus for Delta State, Faulk played for Southwest Mississippi Community College where he split his time on the field between cornerback and wide receiver.

Now, the D2football.com and AFCA First Team All-American is looking to really prove he is the real deal during his senior season. It is not often that a physical corner like Faulk comes to the scene and completely dominates the way he did last year. He certainly is on tons of NFL teams radar this upcoming season.

Just how good was Faulk last season? He was named one of ten finalists for the C-Spire Conerly Trophy, which is awarded to Mississippi’s best Collegiate Football Player. Past winners include Patrick Willis, Evan Engram, Eli Manning and Dak Prescott.

Scouting Notes:

The Jayess, Mississippi native is a special talent. The game that I tell scouts to watch is against Shorter. He absolutely manhandled the receivers. He finished the game with 2 picks and their secondary held Shorter to just 126 yards passing. Faulk is a ball-hawk with great size and speed. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds owner
