Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: Joseph Boykin, Wide Receiver
Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL and CFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. So I hope you all read this interview with Joseph Boykin. 1.If you could live anywhere in the world where and why?
- Dubai, the scenery is different
2.What is your favorite dinner?
- Spaghetti, my grandma made it the best
3.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?
- When I’m on the field, my only going through my head is to execute, to do my job and to do it well.
4.If you were on an island and could only have three things which 3 things would you have?
- My bible, a camera, and water
5.Who are your favorite musical artists/artist?
- It’s a mixture of gospel and hip hop.. I listen to Tye Tribbett to get me hyped and Turnt and I listen to Chris brown and Young Thug when I’m just vibin
6.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?
- It would be Julio Jones, he’s my idol and I try to play my game that way. So to just hang out with him for a day would be lit. I would use to get tips and advice on becoming a better receiver.
7.What do you do for fun?
- For fun, I play the drums, read books and occasionally draw from time to time

8.What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
- I grew up watching Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss and many more guys and they made me fall in love with it so I would practice catching everyday. Anything and everything, I would walk around high pointing anything that was thrown my way. They showed me a different type of love for the game.
9.What is your nickname or if you don’t have a nickname what would you make up as your nickname?
- Everybody know me as smiley or Joe, it’s a name that’s always stuck with me since I was growing up, I walked around smiling and even would smile before lining up against my opponent.
10.What would a team get in a player like you?
- My WORK ETHIC. I stay ready to work and I don’t back down from competition, it’s nothing new to me. I walked on and worked my way up to a scholarship and starter in college. I like to work hard and chase what I want.
11.If there was a tv show about your life what would you call it and why?
- I always been counted out or doubted so it definitely would be The Underdog!!
12.If you were an animal which animal would you be and why?
- A lion because it’s always hunting and looking for it’s prey.
