2021 Draft Prospect Interview: Jimmy Burchett, OL, Notre Dame College

Tell us about your university/college. What was your major/minor? How is campus life?

Notre Dame College is a small, Division 2 school located in South Euclid, OH. I am majoring in Marketing with a minor in Management. Campus life is better than what most would expect from a small school with just a few thousand students. There’s always something going on and has a great atmosphere.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

Resiliency. Being able to perform well when times get tough.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?

I have a leadership role. Where others can look to me to do the right thing. I believe I play best at guard, because I love being able to pull and put my helmet through someone’s chest.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

John Cominsky

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

Brandon Nicholson and Adam Riegler, they have never questioned their role or the “why”. They bring nothing but a great attitude, and energy to practice.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle?

My senior year of high school when my grandfather passed away. He had always been a role model in my life and one of the reasons I worked so hard toward football.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

I was a left handed pitcher in high school so either that or wrestling.

What is something that you are most proud of?

I helped bring Notre Dame Colleges First and Second Conference championship in school history.

What would you say is your biggest achievement?

Being a 2-time NCAA All American.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career?

Hitting and decleating a linebacker in the Final Four game against Valdosta State.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

My favorite team is the Cleveland Browns and my favorite player that I model my game around is Quentin Nelson.

Who is your favorite music artist that gets you pumped before a game?

Chance the Rapper and anything relaxing.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Chicken Noodle Soup

Do you have a favorite movie or actor?

Avengers End Game and Will Smith

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies?

Basketball or anything to stay active.

Who or what motivates you the most?

My parents, everything I do I do for them.
