Tell us about your university/college. Are you involved in any other activities or organizations other than football? What was your major/minor?

I attend Texas A&M University-Commerce. I am part of a leadership group called Lion Leadership Academy. This teaches student-athletes from any sport how to be an active leader amongst team members. It also helps develop our success with future endeavors. Next Spring I will graduate with a degree in industrial engineering as well as mathematics.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

My teammates would say my best quality is my work ethic, as well as my ability to help lead on and off the football field.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skillset?

I’m one of our team captains. I’m a leader with actions but I will also vocalize and demand the best from every one of my teammates. Football is a very fluid environment, therefore I’ve seen many coaching changes and have had to learn new systems. Any scheme that will let me take risks to make plays will suit me perfectly.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

I think that Zimari Manning from Tarleton was the best receiver I’ve played against. Luis Perez was the best quarterback, he’d challenge me mentally every day.

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

My entire team is filled with great guys, the coaches have done a very good job with recruiting the kind of guys you would want to go to war with. Kohou and Simon have uncomparable work ethic. But there are guys that are well respected from the team because of the success they’ve had as well.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

Being 5’7 people usually overlook the abilities you possess. I’ve been looked over many times when the college recruitment took place for me. But with an opportunity from Texas A&M University-Commerce, I am now a 2x All-American (2018 & 2019 seasons). Not to mention the first player in program history to be an All-American at 2 positions in the same season.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

I would probably want to find myself on the track. I love to run and I love the rush I used to receive being on the track in high school. I’ve always been a team player, therefore my best events were the  4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relays. I also enjoyed triple jump.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I’m most proud of the path I’ve taken in life. My family isn’t known for going to college, certainly not to play sports in college and definitely not studying to graduate with 2 degrees. My Father’s goal for me was to play one snap of college football. I found a way to succeed and have made the most of the opportunities presented to me.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.

I’ve been blessed with the ability to have many memorable moments playing college football. One of the best moments was the end of the 2017 National Championship game when I was watching Coach Carthel get water dumped on him and seeing him explode with excitement knowing we finished the season on top!

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

My favorite athlete is Barry Sanders. He’s the reason I wear the number 20. As of recently I’ve been studying the game of Tyrann Mathieu and Tyreek Hill. I want to be a ball hawk like Mathieu and make big plays like Hill.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?

My favorite music artists are Chance the Rapper and J.Cole. Before the game I love getting hyped to Earned It by Chief Keef!

What is your favorite comfort food?

My favorite comfort food is probably lasagna

Do you have a favorite movie or actor?

My favorite movie is The Wood. It’s the funniest movie ever. Will Smith is my favorite actor.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies?

In my spare time, I hang out with my friends. I like playing video games, but I also enjoy being outside.

Who or what motivates you the most?

What motivates me the most is my determination to reach all of my goals. I set very high goals for myself, and whether they are attainable or not, I will strain to reach the end of the race. All of the people around me, my entire support system, motivate me day in and day out to give every day my all in hopes to be great.
