What is the best restaurant in your hometown city?

  • El Nopal

When breaking down your film what will stick out?

  • My ability to improvise to keep a play alive and my arm strength.

If you won the lotto, what is the first thing you would do with the money?

  • I would put the money into savings and continue on with my daily life.

What has been your biggest failure?

  • Missing the playoffs my redshirt sophomore year. I felt that ultimately it fell back on me and I want that weight on my shoulders. I kept that top-of-mind all offseason.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

  • They say that my best quality is that I lead by example. My teammates know that everything I expect from them I expect from myself and I won’t be hypocritical about anything.

Who is the hardest working teammate on your team?

  • My whole team is filled with workhorses. However, the one guy that I know I can call to workout at any time is Dimitrius Patterson. From the time he stepped on campus he has put in the work and it hasn’t gone unnoticed from anyone.

Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?

  • Yes, once I started little league football I was given the nickname “Sunshine”. I guess the long hair and position resembled Sunshine from Remember the Titans.

What is your degree in, if you do not make it as a football player, what is your dream job?

  • I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis in P-12 Physical Education and Health. I am currently enrolled in the Master’s of Business Administration program. If I don’t make it as a football player my dream job is to be a QB coach at a Power 5.

What is your coolest life moment?

  • After practice, I drove two hours to surprise my sister for the birth of my nephew, Conner. The moment I shared with my sister was something I will never forget.

Where do you find Diamonds in the Rough in the 2021 NFL Draft?

What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

  • Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash

If you could pick any actor to play you in a movie, who are you picking?

  • Mark Wahlberg

Who is your favorite football team?

  • Green Bay Packers

If you had a warning label, what would yours say?

  • Caution: Does NOT run like a QB.

What is your biggest fear?

  • Not getting an opportunity to display my talents at the next level.

Who is the most underrated player in the NFL?

  • Taysom Hill. I believe his impact on the game as a football player, and not specifically a position player, brings many different aspects to the Saints that few players can do.

Take us through game day, How do you prepare?

  • Starting with team breakfast, I talk over any adjustments or keys with the other QBs. I get to the stadium and immediately start listening to music and warm-up. I like to make sure that I have a good sweat going before the game starts.

Do you have any hobbies?

  • Fishing, working out, video games

If you had to compare yourself to someone in the NFL, who would that be?

  • Taysom Hill. We have similar styles of play in that we can play multiple positions. I am a well-rounded football player who just wants an opportunity to keep playing the game I love.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life and explain why?

  • My parents have been the biggest influence on my life. They have instilled a competitive edge in me and an unmatched work ethic. I have seen them work for everything they have without ever making an excuse. Seeing their drive has made me want to be the same type of person in everything that I do. I attribute my academic and athletic skills and success to their invaluable influences.

What motivates you to work hard?

  • I have been overlooked since high school and I don’t want to let my teammates down. I am blessed and wouldn’t change my path, but proving all of the colleges that passed up on me is always on my mind. Also, knowing that I have teammates that are counting on me, just like I am with them, drives me to be better.
