2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Brady Schutt, P, University of South Dakota
The Blonde Bomber! Yep, I gave him a nickname. I do not care if you like it either. I was a former specialist myself, and I love the punting skills of Brady Schutt from South Dakota. I love his ability and his hair so much that I wanted to write a piece on a punter in the 2021 NFL Draft. Let’s find out why I gave him a nickname and why you need to know about this kid.
Brady Schutt was not always just a punter. He was a freaking quarterback in high school for MOC/Floyd Valley. He is an athlete too. The 6010 punter played soccer, basketball and football. As a senior he threw for 1,159 yards and ran for 290 yards. He is not afraid to get hit like most punters!
He would end up at South Dakota and as a freshman he would red-shirt his first year.

In 2017 though, he came to shine. He was one of 33 freshman to earn playing time as a red-shirt freshman. He played in all 13 games, and was the teams punter the entire year. He finished the year with a 39.6 average. He punted the ball 62 times and pined 26 of his punts inside the 20. He also drew 24 fair catches as a freshman.
As a redshirt Sophomore, Brady continued to boom the ball. He ranked 12th nationally averaging 42.9 yards per punt and netted a 37.2 punt average. The wild thing is he had 10 punts over 50 yards and also banged a sixty yarder.
Last year, the Blonde Bomber nailed a 62 yarder and on 57 punts landed 17 inside the 20. He had 19 fifty plus yard punts, that is pretty solid, and finished the year with a 45.1 yards per punt average. That is insane and would have been better than 13 punters in the NFL last season. Hence the nickname, Blonde Bomber!

I do not get to talk about punters often, but I am a fan of Brady Schutt. The South Dakota punter has long hair and does not CARE about anything. The kid is a savage as a punter and has a monster leg. He has great hangtime, and to be honest he is not afraid to tackle or be tackled either.
