2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Alex Findura, DE, Bloomsburg University

Alex Findura Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg defensive end Alex Findura is an American Hero. He served in our United States Military for years before playing college football.

Bloomsburg University has a monster pass rusher named Alex Findura. The 6’6 pass rusher is a All-PSAC Scholar Athlete and an All-Conference player. Findura is a lanky pass rusher that loves to stand up off the edge. He has some solid moves and has a knack for getting around opposing teams offensive lineman. His back story is not like other players in Division 2.

While he is playing great on the field, he is a hero off the field. Findura served four years in the United States Marines and, during his service, was primarily a member of an elite team known as the Body Bearers with a motto that states “The Last To Let You Down.” He was part of a prestigious team whose primary mission is to bear the caskets at funerals for Marines.

A TRUE HERO, Thank you for your service!

In 2010, the Wooland High School graduate who collected 85 tackles as a senior and racked up 20 sacks committed to Georgia State. He was quite the athlete playing basketball and even cleared 6’5 in the high jump before signing with the Panthers.

Findura would decided to serve his country.

Findura came to Bloomsburg after his time in the Marines. In 2017, the freshman began to add on some weight and was able to see some time in 9 games of the year. He finished the season with 4 tackles a forced fumble and a sack.

In 2018, Findura was able to start getting a better feel for the game. He racked up 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He also blocked a kick against Lock Haven. His long arms are amazing for the special teams field goal block unit.

Findura capped off his breakout campaign for the Huskies with an All-PSAC East first team honor as a defensive lineman. Findura collected 57 tackles, including a team-leading 16.5 tackles for loss for 48 yards. The junior also collected 7.0 sacks and four quarterback hurries. Findura blocked a kick and in the Huskies’ 22-17 win at East Stroudsburg, Findura recorded his first-career safety.

In his career, Findura has 73 tackles, 22.0 TFL, and 9.5 total sacks. He has forced a pair of fumbles in his career and recovered two.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:

Alex Findura is a hero to me, and I can never say anything bad about him. As a football player he is playing at the highest level right now and he is tough as nails. The 6060 pass rusher could add a few pounds, but he is strong as an ox. Findura’s biggest knock is going to be his age, but there is no doubt he can play. He was born in February of 1992 and that will hurt him when it comes to the NFL Draft, but he was not just sitting around, he was serving our country and is probably in better shape than most student athletes. – Damond Talbot, Owner, NFL Draft Diamonds
