2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Jaret Patterson, RB, University at Buffalo

Jaret Patterson the running back from UB is one of the best running backs in the Nation and I think with another big year he leaves college early.

How did Jaret Patterson get overlooked by major Division 1 schools like Maryland and Virginia? I am shocked because the 5090 running back from Glenn Dale, Maryland maybe the best running back in college football today. I know I will picked on for that statement, but he has torn up the MAC.

Patterson is a shifty running back who ran for 1k in his true freshman year for the Bulls. As a die-hard UB Bulls fan, I have to admit I have not watched a running back this good in the MAC in a really long time.

Horns UP

Patterson is a communications major at UB, and he is making tons of noise in the football world. As a Junior, this kid has everything NFL teams want in a running back. Last year as a Sophomore, Patterson broke the school’s single season rushing record with 1,799 yards rushing. He also set a record in touchdowns scored with 19.

Patterson is a special talent, his brother James is also a linebacker on the Bulls roster. I would be shocked if Patterson stays in school next year.

Running backs are not drafted high anymore for some reason, but I have to think he will be one of the top running backs again this year in college football. He led the MAC in rushing yards and was fifth in the nation at the end of the season. If he has another big year, I would expect him to leave early and enter the draft.

Scouting Notes:

I maybe a homer, because I am a Bulls fan, but there is no doubt in my mind this kid is special. He has great burst, he is elusive, and he can catch out the backfield. He is able to slip out of tackles easily and is explosive. There are a few backs like Kylin Hill, Chuba Hubbard and Travis Etienne who are all special, but I think you have to add Patterson to that mix. With a huge year I could see him getting drafted anywhere from the 3rd to 5th round. If my team needed a running back, I would want Patterson, the kid has that “it” factor we look for in players. – Damond Talbot, Owner, NFL Draft Diamonds.
