Bucknell’s Punter Alex Pechin Outkicks the Competition, but still remains unsigned
By: Brandon Gubitosa
It’s not everyday a punter catches your eye watching film, but Alex Pechin does quite that. It’s hard to ignore his monster leg and speed on the football field. In fact, his 4.69 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine led all special teamers.
Pechin led the FCS in 2019 averaging 47.3 yards per punt, which was good enough to nod him FCS Punter of the Year. To put that into perspective, his 47.3 yards per punt would have placed him 4th in the NFL last season. The former Bucknell Bison was one of only 12 FCS players invited to the NFL Combine. The two-time captain represented the Bison in the 2020 East-West Shrine Bowl.
Just how good was he this year. Check out this monster 71- yard punt downed at the 2 yard line.

While Pechin was not drafted, expect him to be picked up by a team in the upcoming days. You can see the rest of his highlights below.
Alex Pechin Highlights
Pechin is still available after the 2020 NFL Draft, and hopefully he will hear something soon, because he is a special talent.
