Five XFL players that absolutely deserve a shot with the NFL again

Cavon Walker has been super impressive for the New York Guardians with the XFL and the big man definitely deserves a shot from the NFL. He is leading the league in sacks.

The XFL is half way over and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. I wanted to talk about 5 players that I believe deserve another shot in the NFL after the their first half performance of the XFL. Let’s get started:

P.J. Walker, QB, Houston Roughnecks – Walker has thrown for 1,338 yards in just five games averaging 268 yards a game. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns to just four interceptions. The former Temple gunslinger is very deserving of a shot. He reminds me of Tyrod Taylor and I think a team will definitely give him a shot. He is no longer a secret, the XFL has definitely helped him. The Seahawks were at their last game watching him, and he would be a perfect back-up to Russell Wilson as this point.

Donald Parham, TE, Dallas Renegades – The 6080 tight end has been one of the best pass catchers in the entire XFL. Parham has 24 receptions for 307 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He is averaging 12.8 yards per reception and he can be an amazing addition for a team like the Dallas Cowboys who love athletic tight ends. With Dallas right around the corner, they should be paying attention to the athletic Parham.

Cam Phillips, WR, Houston Roughnecks – The former Virginia Tech wide out has been ballin in the XFL. He has 455 receiving yards 100 plus more than any other pass catcher in the XFL. The former undrafted free agent signing of the Buffalo Bills stands at 6000 and weighs 201 pounds. He has been impressive this season racking up 455 yards on 31 receptions and hauling in 9 touchdowns. Every NFL team wants a touchdown machine and Phillips is that guy. I could see a team like the Jets making a push for Phillips.

Cavon Walker, DT, New York Guardians – Finding a defensive tackle that can get to the quarterback is hard, but Walker has been super impressive. He has just 19 tackles but 4.5 of them are sacks and 5 are tackles for loss. He also has 9 quarterback hits. The 6020, 284 pound pass rusher is just 25 years old and I can see a team signing him and throwing him in the defensive line rotation. He has been fun to watch and one of the only bright spots for the Guardians.

Marquette King, P, St. Louis BattleHawks – You may not like the kid but he has been a stud in the XFL. He is averaging 46.7 yards per punt. That would have been good enough for 10th in the NFL last year. He is from Georgia and he is better than both punters the Falcons have on their roster in Ryan Allen and Kasey Redfern. He is averaging 5 more yards per punt than both of those players. He should be in the NFL, period.
