XFL Top Performers: Which players had a great week 3?

Martez Carter balled out in week three and Justin Berendzen of NFL Draft Diamonds talked about the former small school backs huge day!

QB

Phillip”PJ” Walker Houston Roughnecks-

PJ had 306 passing yards and 3 TDs and 34 rushing yards and a TD. Walker is a definite XFL mvp candidate. And the NFL needs to get this guy he has shown that when he is under pressure he can escape and find someone or run.

Landry Jones Dallas Renegades-

Landry Jones had 274 passing yards and 3 TDs. Jones is showing he can be a decent QB. Landry had a solid game and will get even better and comes up clutch in crunch time.

Josh Johnson LA Wildcats-

Josh was on his game. He had 278 passing yards and 3 TDs. The Wildcats won and Josh Johnson looked good. One of the better quarterbacks this weekend.

RB

Martez Carter LA Wildcats-

Carter was a beast.  Carter had 34 rushing yards and 2 tds. And in the passing game he had 3 catches for 41 yards and 1 TD. Wildcats need to get him the ball more and he should be the starter.

Cameron Artis-Payne and Lance Dunbar Dallas Renegades-

Artis-Payne was a beast in the Ground game with 80 rush yards and also had 6 catches for 30 receiving yards. Dunbar was awesome in the passing game 9 catches for 56 yards and 23 rush yards. This tag team is awesome and will continue to be fun to watch.

James Butler Houston Roughnecks-

Butler only had 7 rushing attempts and had 72 yards. That ratio seems awesome at over 10 yards per attempt. He is a force in the running game for the Roughnecks.

Matt Jones and Christine Michael St.Louis Battlehawks

Jones had 95 rush yards and 1 TD. Michael had 44 Rush yards and 1 TD. These guys are a huge threat in the Run game. This tag team is tough to deal with.

WR

Cam Phillips Houston Roughnecks-

The PJ Walker- Cam Phillips show is still in full force. Phillips had 194 Receiving yards and 3 TDs. This guy is also going to get another shot in the NFL he’s ready to be back.

Jalen Tolliver Tampa Bay Vipers-

When the Vipers had a big reception most of the time it was Tolliver. Jalen had 8 catches for 104 yards. This guy was making the big plays and I hope the Vipers keep going to him.

Tre McBride LA Wildcats-

The Spruce show ended and the McBride show started. McBride was so good. He had 5 catches for 109 yards and 2 TDs. Watch McBride going forward.

TE

Donald Parham Dallas Renegades

Parham was a beast out there for the Renegades.  Donald had 5 receptions 101 receiving yards and 2 TDs including one TD that was 60 plus yards. Parham is unstoppable and needs to be on an NFL team.

Offensive Line

Vipers Offensive Line-

Even though they lost the Vipers offensive line impressed me. They stopped almost all the Roughnecks pressure.

DL

Cashaud Lyons Houston Roughnecks-

Lyons was the only one able to get through to the Vipers QB. He had 2 tackles, 1 assist and 1 sack . Lyons was awesome.

Casey Sayles St.Louis Battlehawks-

This guy was a beast (and not to mention he was nice enough to give that girl a ball for a box of thin mints). Sayles had 2 tackles, 1 assist and 1 sack. Sayles is a force to watch out for.

Devin Taylor LA Wildcats-

Taylor was on point against the Defenders. He only had 3 tackles. But I felt like he was a factor in getting pressure on Cardale.

Sam Montgomery DC Defenders-

I felt like Sam was one of the better Defenders players in a ugly game. He had 3 tackles and 1 assist. Montgomery has been a good defense lineman and will continue to be one.

LB

Terrance Plummer Tampa Bay Vipers-

Plummer was a force for that Vipers D. Terrance had 4 tackles, 3 assists and 1 sack. Plummer is only one of a few who have gotten to Walker and that is a compliment for anyone who does it. Plummer should get looked at by the NFL.

Demarquis Gates Houston Roughnecks-

Gates was a force against the Vipers. Demarquis had 8 tackles, 1 assist and a int. Gates looked awesome out there and had the key interception. Gates should get a shot in the NFL.

Steven Johnson Seattle Dragons-

This guy has been a beast for that Dragons d. 3 good weeks in a row and has consistently been good. This guy needs to be in the NFL. Steven had 14 tackles and 5 assists. Johnson is a tackling machine.

Ben Heeney NY Guardians-

Heeney was the best Guardians player out there week 3. Ben had 6 tackles and 2 assists. Most effective Guardians defensive player.

DB

Godwin Igwebuike and Channing Stribling  Seattle Dragons-

These guys were solid against the Renegades. Igwebuike had 7 tackles, 1 assist and 1 int. Stribling had 4 tackles, 2 assists and 1 int. Every week there’s 2 different Dragons DBs that have good games and these are the 2 this week.

Kenny Robinson, Dexter McCoil and Will Hill -St.Louis Battlehawks

These guys were a menace on defense for the Guardians. Robinson had 4 tackles, 1 assist and 1 int. McCoil had 9 tackles and 5 assists. Hill had 9 tackles and 2 assists. These guys cause alot of havoc.

Mike Stevens, Jack Tocho, and Arrion Springs LA Wildcats-

Stevens was a beast he him out there Wildcats he had 6 tackles,2 assists,1 sack and 2 ints. Tocho also was a beast with 3 tackles, 2 assists, 1 int and a blocked punt.  And Springs was a factor too with 3 tackles, 1 assist and 1 int. These guys all need to be looked at by NFL teams. And the Wildcats should put these guys out there more too because they were all making play

Special teams player of the week:

Joe Powell St.Louis Battlehawks

Joe Powell had a 90 yard kickoff return TD for the Battlehawks. There was a reverse and Powell got it to the house for the first kickoff return TD in XFL history.

Kicker of the week

Taylor Russolino St.Louis Battlehawks-

Russolino hit a FG from 58 yards a dome record. Also hit FGs from 39 and 36. And he didn’t miss any. NFL teams need to bring Russolino in.
