Overview: He is a reliable, sure-handed receiver who has average speed but creates catch opportunities for himself by varying route speed and running highly focused routes. His lack of vertical push will have cornerbacks looking to smother him before he can get out of the gates. Summary: ​Holmes will not wow you with his film but he is a very smart and gritty player who does the dirty work and won’t complain about it, and it shows up on his tape. From holding his block on the outside corner, running down the field to pick up blocks for teammates he does all of that and then some. He has a reliable pair of hands and also body control that helps him make contested catches. A great release that helps keep from getting jammed on the line, makes him a reliable 3rd down target. Holmes might not have the highest ceiling due to his lack of elite athletic traits, but has everything you look for that doesn’t show up on film. Good route runner but does need to fine-tune it a little bit to really take advantage of his quickness.
