HBCU Spirit of America Scouting Notes: Who has impressed at the HBCU SOA?

Alcorn State wide out Chris Blair has really impressed at the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl. Check out who else has helped themselves.

HBCU Brave-

QB’s

Devlin Isadore-North Texas/Texas AM Kingsville-Showed good touch, above avg velocity on throws, good mobility in/around the pocket, not bad for a player that was the backup to Koy Detmer Jr

Darius Wade-Bowling Green/Boston College-Great pocket presence, carried the ball high in the pocket, great leadership qualities, nice touch on throws and above avg velocity

RB’s

Jhalen Bien-Aime-Pace-Very versatile; was holder on FGs, able to return kicks/punts. Straight line speed+,scout interviewed

Wr’s

Tyrek Allen-Alabama State- Caught everything that was thrown his way. Ran good routes, was able to show separation. Interviewed with several scouts.

Peyton Ramzy-Tuskegee-Very vocal, despite thin frame, played bigger than his size. Was able to box out and win 50-50 balls. Maybe only 1 drop. Showed +speed+quickness. Was a scout favorite. 

Joseph Ross-Fort Valley State-Quietly ran good routes, and caught everything. 

Emetrious Scott-Lyon College-Very small, but showed spirit. Caught everything and wanted to do everything. Very professional shook all the scouts hands. Was nicknamed “the mayor” by scouts.

Tevon Wright-Chadron State-Easy mover. Caught everything. Ran good routes. 

TE’s

Michael Cornwell-Howard (transfer-Maryland)-Fast and quick, very humble, quiet. No drops. scout interview

OL

Donald Boone-Chowan-Scout favorite. Rarely lost a 1 on 1 battle in practice.

DL-

James Dumas-DT-Bowie State-Looked unblockable at times in 1 on 1s. High motor.

LB-

Shaun McGee OLB-Tuskegee (transfer-Georgia)-Showed an impressive 1st step in 1 on 1’s. And above average lateral movement.

DBs

Adorian Beach-CB Savannah State (Transfer-Appalachian State)-Turned in a qood workout. And grabbed the attention of quite a few scouts with his 1 on 1 reps.

Carl Garnes-CB Morgan State-Long and lean CB. Excellent job mirroring opposing WRs. Was a scout favorite. 

Ken Hike Jr-CB Tuskegee-long and lean CB, lot of swag. Rarely lost a 1 on 1. Scout favorite.

LS

Ernest Bush-North Carolina A&T-Snaps was very consistent. Got attention from scouts.

HBCU Brave

QB-Tyrie Adams Western Carolina-Natural leader and athlete. Highly mobile. Really stood out athletically. 

QB-Aaron Winchester-C. Connecticut state-Showed good pocket presence, made good decisions. 

WR

Chris Blair-Wowed scouts. Looks like a do it all WR. A scout favorite. 

TE

Dushon David-Bowie State-Caught everything. 

OL

Kevin Hall-Alcorn State-Solid in 1 on 1s. Interviewed with scouts.

DL

Gibson Ziah-Livingstone-Despite being undersized, won some 1 on 1s with a quick first step and a high motor.

DB

Elijah Johnson-Virginia Union-Very long and athletic. Intriguing CB prospect.
