Tell us about your university/college. What was your major/minor?

My major was Mathematics with a minor in Education. I chose Wingate University because it is a small school that has a family-oriented culture. Everyone is involved, and winning is second nature. From the classroom to the field everyone is expected to be successful.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

My teammates would say that I’m a high motor athlete who is determined to be great. They would also say that I am a diverse player who is coachable and learns quickly. I practice with a game mentality and push others to do the same.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skillset?

Being a team captain, I feel that I am held to a higher standard. I’m the leader who’s going to hold you accountable and uplift you at the same time. I also lead by example and not just with my words. I’m also a diverse player who can play any position in the secondary and on special teams. I can play man and zone coverage. I also have the ability to man up and eliminate a player from a game, or zone up and shut down any side of the field.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

Braxton Westfield

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

The whole team is talented, but I’m going to say, Robbie Wallace. He is the true definition of determination and dedication.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

My freshman year of high school, I had a chance to start at safety, but I did not have a good summer session. I lost the job to an older guy, and they made me a back up, which meant I saw little playing time. I reacted by working harder during practice and taking advantage of the few opportunities I was given. Towards the end of the season my number was called and I was prepared, and ended up earning the starting job for good.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

If I didn’t play football, I would have run track. I ran during high school and went to State for the 400 and the 4 by 1 relay. Placing in the top 3 every year, with my best 400 time being 49.98.

What is something that you are most proud of?

I am proud to be the first individual in my family to play on a collegiate level. I am also proud of being a part of Wingate’s historical senior group, by having the most wins and playoff appearances than any other class!

What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I was part of a team that made the playoffs 3 consecutive years at Wingate.  I also made the All-SAC First Team Defense 2 years in a row (2018 & 2019) and made D2CCA All-Super Region in 2018 & 2019. But my biggest achievement will be receiving my college degree!

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

My favorite athlete is Xavier Rhodes. His aggressive style of play and his IQ for the game is something every DB can admire which is why I shape my game off of him.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?

My favorite artist is Drake, but Meek Mill is the vibe before games.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Chicken or Shrimp Alfredo

Do you have a favorite movie or actor?

My favorite movie is Remember the Titans, and my favorite actor is Denzel Washington.

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies?

In my spare time, I enjoy fellowship with my friends and spending time with my family.I also enjoy watching highlight tapes on pro athletes and reading a good book every now and then.

Who or what motivates you the most?

I’m motivated by my family, especially my younger brothers. They’re my ”why”!
