HBCU Heroes: Week 11 standouts who caught the eye of the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl

Ezra Gray, RB, Alabama State – Ezra Gray wanted to get on my HBCU Heroes list and he did it with his performance against Texas Southern. The running back from Lynn Haven, Florida had 154 yards on the ground on 24 carries. He has had 2 100 yard games in the past three weeks. He is catching my eye.

Rico Kennedy, LB, Morgan State – Rico Kennedy is one of the funnest players to watch in the MEAC. The Morgan State linebacker is a game changer. This past week he has a huge interception and returned it for 55 yards. He is a great human being, and a leader on the defensive side of the ball. He is a kid that needs to be in a big All-Star Game.

Raiderious Anderson, WR, Alcorn State – Alcorn State has some huge wide outs on the edge, they have CJ Blair and Raiderious Anderson. Anderson is a 6050 senior wide out who had a great game this past weekend. He finished with 6 receptions for 102 yards and 1 touchdown. Alcorn fell short to Grambling State but they are still 4-1 in the SWAC.

De’Montrez Burroughs, WR, South Carolina State – My guy De’Montrez Burroughs is not playing around. The past several weeks he is trying to make my list consistently. He has 140 yards receiving and 5 touchdowns this past week. Are you kidding me? 5 touchdowns? I get it De’Montrez you want the recognition you deserve and we are giving it to you!

Manasseh Bailey, WR, Morgan State – Week in and week out Bailey has become one of the best small school wide outs. No one knows him but he has been an HBCU Hero many times this year. He finished the game with 118 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. I love me from Manasseh Bailey!
