HBCU standout pass rusher arrested for domestic violence

Grambling State pass rusher Anfernee Mullins was arrested again for domestic violence likely killing his chances of getting drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.

One of the best pass rushers in the SWAC could miss the Bayou Classic after getting arrested for domestic violence.

According to the News Star, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Grambling State senior defensive end Anfernee Mullins Tuesday on misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment and domestic abuse battery strangulation of his live-in girlfriend.

He has been restrained from having contact with the victim or her family, going within 1,000 feet of her or her family’s house and as a condition of his bail, he’s been ordered to be electronically monitored by the Sheriff’s Office.

This is not Mullins first arrest though. Mullins was also arrested back in April on one count of domestic abuse battery and one count of criminal trespassing after an altercation with the same woman, who was pregnant with their child at the time.

He is a solid pass rusher but this is not going to help his draft stock at all. Many teams will likely stay away from him now. This is a horrible development. Mullins was arrested back at Mississippi State as well in 2016 for simple assault.
