The XFL is great because it offers up another option for not just the guys in the SEC and ACC, but the guys coming from D2, D3, NAIA and the FCS. We broke down the draft from yesterday to find out that 41 small schoolers were drafted on day 1 of the XFL Draft.
That is impressive when you consider the other players they were competing against. Let’s look at a breakdown of the XFL Draft after the first three phases. A total of 240 players were selected yesterday. Out of those 240 players, 136 of them were from the power conferences.
- SEC – 38
- Pac 12 – 27
- ACC – 25
- Big 12 23
- Big Ten 23
Then you look at the small schoolers and 41 were taken. That is impressive when you look at the first pick in the entire draft was a small schooler from James Madison University (Rashard Davis). This has been great and today it will continue with the DB’s going next then Phase 5 which is filling out the rosters! We will do our best at Draft Diamonds to stay committed to posting as much as possible!
