Five biggest surprise cuts on cutdown day

Jachai Polite getting cut was the biggest head scratcher for me. This move makes no sense.

The NFL will always have surprise cuts, but today there were several cuts that were shocking to me. I am shocked by more than 5 cuts, but these five cuts were shocking to me.

1.) Jachai Polite, DE, New York Jets – Let’s face it the Jets fired their GM, and I get it, but you just spent a 3rd round pick on Polite. You have not really even watched him. You have had a few practices and a couple pre-season games to judge him and with that you cut him. This was a major suprise cut for me. He was a top 75 player in the NFL Draft.

2.) LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills – The Bills cut their star running back. The Pro Bowl running back was getting 9 million a year which is a lot, but I did not see the Bills doing this. They have Frank Gore and a rookie in Devin Singletary but this move was shocking. I though the Bills would keep him.

3.) Vyncint Smith, WR, Houston Texans – The Texans loved this kid. He is a big wide receiver with stupid speed. I was mind blown when I read the team cut him. I was not sure what was going on, but after today does anyone know what the Houston Texans are doing?

4.) John Franklin-Myers, DL, Los Angeles Rams – The Rams pass rusher was a stud for the team, and after losing Suh in Free Agency, I was shocked the team let him go. I am a huge fan of Franklin. I would not be shocked if the 49ers put in a claim for him.

5.) Britton Colquitt, P, Cleveland Browns – I know the Scottish Hammer took his position but how could the Browns not trade him? The Browns I hope at least tried to trade him. I am shocked because he was a Pro-Bowl alternate last season. He can hammer a ball just not as far as the rookie.
