The NFL is always full of surprises, and I wanted to put a list together of five players that I feel would be huge surprise cuts from their teams.  Let’s go down a list of players we think that could get the axe in the coming days.

Tajae Sharpe, WR, Tennessee Titans – The Titans drafted AJ Brown early and they have some other solid players in Corey Davis, Adam Humphries, and Taywan Taylor. I could see the Titans releasing Sharpe.  I like Sharpe and feel he could be even used as trade bait before the season begins. This move would save the team 2 million in cap space as well.

LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills – The Bills have some depth at the running back position and I feel McCoy could be on the chopping block. If he is released the team would save 6.4 million dollars in cap space.  The Bills like his leadership qualities, but this is a business and 6.4 million is a lot of money.

Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati Bengals – Gio Bernard has been a fun player over the years, but like McCoy this is a business. If the Bengals release him they can save 3.7 million dollars.  That is a lot of money for a back-up running back.  I feel this would be a surprise cut because there are so many teams that could use some depth at the running back position.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Denver Broncos – The Broncos have 4 million in cap space, and they could add an additional 8.7 million in cap space by letting Sanders walk. They added a bunch of youth to the position and it makes a ton of sense for them to move on from the injury struck Sanders.

Abry Jones, DT, Jacksonville Jaguars- The Jaguars longest tenured member I could see getting the walking papers. He is a decent player but the team who has Marcel Dareus, and drafted Taven Bryan need to move on and save the cap space. Jones would save the Jaguars 4 million in cap space, which makes sense for them.
