Texas Longhorns WR arrested for carrying a loaded gun without a license

This story is an interesting one because 19-year-old Joshua Moore a wide receiver for the Texas Longhorns is facing a misdemeanor gun charge after being arrested for carrying a loaded gun without a license, according to the Austin Police Department.

According to a police affidavit obtained by KXAN, Moore was arrested on July 5 after police noticed a man with a firearm on the city’s camera system HALO. Police say a man “remove a firearm from his waistband, walked-in between two vehicles, appearing to chamber a round by pulling the slide of the gun to the rear, and then place the firearm back into his waistband.”

Police officers found Moore, saying he matched the description of the suspect and arrested him at gunpoint. They found a Glock 19–9mm pistol in his waistband.

Moore is a sophomore at the University of Texas and is listed on the Longhorns roster as a wide receiver.
