NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Report: JK Dobbins, RB, Ohio State University

Ohio State running back JK Dobbins had his film broke down by our newest addition Byran Ault. Make sure you follow him on Twitter!

NFL Draft Diamonds newest addition Bryan Ault has joined our scouting team and he put together this quick scouting report on Ohio State RB JK Dobbins.

  • JK Dobbins
  • Ohio State
  • Running Back
  • Exposures: Nebraska (2018)

Description: Four-year starter at tailback, only the sixth player in program history to start in the season opener as a freshman.

Strengths – Solid inside runner with low pad level.  Very shifty; rips off some big runs and was especially good in high school; makes the first man miss.  Exhibits good vision and patience to follow blocks.  Loose hipped: can keep his shoulders parallel and quickly slide his feet and change direction.  Finishes forward on contact.

Weaknesses – underdeveloped legs; needs to add bulk but will do so with time.  Slow at times to turn the corner on off-tackle runs.  Has several runs v. Nebraska which were blocked for him.  I would like to see more film before a final evaluation.
